Fri, 16 May 2008 NEWS RELEASE... The Corps of Engineers announced yesterday that the new Georgia Gun Bill signed into Law by the Governor does not apply to Corps Managed Lakes and Lands in Georgia. Corps Managed Property is regulated by the Code of Federal Regulations. Regulations governing possession of firearms specify that possession of loaded firearms, ammunition or loaded projectile firing devices is prohibited unless in the possession of federal, state or local law enforcement officers or when being used in compliance with hunting regulations. Consequently state carry permits issued to NON law enforcement officers are NOT valid on Corps Property.
