We were at her memorial service in Albuquerque, New Mexico to honor her life. Her ashes were spread across the west side of a Mountain in Albuquerque, overlooking the beautiful Sandia Mountainside. This is a tribute to her life, her family and friends who were with her every step of the way. She is now at peace and happy! We love you Beverly! "We little knew that morning, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, You are always by our side. Lesli has been fighting a brave battle against IBC (inflammatory breast cancer) which has spread to her Brain. She went to MD Anderson in Houston for much of her treatment, including chemo, radiation, surgeries and more. We saw some breathtaking countryside, had plenty of Pints of Brew and Irish Whiskey, met some wonderful people who toured with us and left with memories that we will never, ever forget. Both nights included dinner, singing, dancing. The comedian at Mary Ellen and great friend of mine and yours truly went together and left Hubby at Home....he is not one to fly that far. It was great for me to find out the history of my Irish Ancestry-Grandfather. We had a really special show today and what a treat it was to talk with Delores Robinson, Assistant Director of Public Relations for Navy Pier out of Delores took us through a wonderful journey of the history of Navy Pier, which overlooks the beautiful Chicago Skyline and It was once the location where the well known Chicago Fest was hosted in the 1970's and early 1980's. In the 1990's it underwent a huge transformation. Navy Pier in Chicago was most recently the place to be for the huge Batman Movie Premier, where much of the production was filmed. Navy Pier www.navypier.com is a must see when you travel to one of the greatest cities in the A very special part of this show is that your hosts, Mary & Chuck Thompson were married on Navy Pier 25 years ago this week (July 23, 1983) aboard the The SS Clipper Ship which was docked there. As far as we knew the ship left Navy Pier and was long gone and possibly scrapped in a ship yard somewhere due to the age of this steamer ship. So when we asked Delores if she had any knowledge of where the SS Clipper Ship went or the history of this Ship, she literally "blew us away" with what she found. Delores did extensive research into this Ship and found that the name had changed to the Milwaukee Clipper Ship, thus making it harder to track her down. Bottom line is, "Our Wedding Ship" is alive and well and was placed just months after our wedding into the National Register of Historic Sites and in 1989 she was designated as a National Historic Landmark! Listen in to hear our shock as the story unfolded and the uncanny twist to the story based upon where the Ship is now located! Marge is the Mother of 5 and has been married for 55 years this September to her husband Bill, who has supported her all the way.
